Levi’s, MetLife and Gillette ranked as the most Instagrammed stadiums

Home to the legendary San Francisco 49ers , Levi’s Stadium sits fitmly at the top of our list with the highest number of hashtags.
The three most popular hashtags used were: #levisstadium , #levistadium and #49ersstadium. These three hashtags garnered: 214,624 mentions, 101,235 mentions and 730 mentions, respectively.
The sheer size of the stadium and its distinct red and white team colours displayed everywhere makes for a perfect Instagram picture; when wanting to show your friends where you are and what you’re up to without having to suffice for a blurry shot of the footballers playing or a shot from the nosebleeds – if you can’t afford the expensive tickets.
2. MetLife Stadium, New York Giants & New York Jets, East Rutherford, NJ

In second place is the MetLife Stadium – home to both the New York Giants and the New York Jets. . Due to being home to two major NFL teams, this venue has racked up the hashtag mentions! When breaking down the numbers, the most searched hashtags were: metlifestadium, metlifestaduim and metlifestatium. These hashtags garnered 304,201, 924 and 608 mentions respectively.
As well as being a titan-sized stadium, with its 82,500 seats, this venue is also used for many music performances from big stars such as: Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Elton John and more. This leaves the potential for more than just the average NFL fan to be posting the stadium, with music fans alike wanting to share with their friends what gig they’re at.
3. Gillette Stadium, New England Patriots, Foxborough, MA

Standing in third place we have the Gillette Stadium. This stadium is home to the New England Patriot and is one of the most recognisable stadiums in the world, thanks to its Gillette branding.
With a capacity of 65,000 – 70,000 seats the sheer size of this stadium is worth a shot on its own merit. The most common hashtags for the stadium were found to be: gillettestadium, gilettestadium and gilletestadium. These hashtags garnered 228,404, 17,621 and 12,588 mentions, respectively.

How did your home stadium rank?
Methodology
To get to our result, we gathered 30 popular NFL stadiums and we used the top three hashtags regarding the venue to calculate the overall number of times it was mentioned in a hashtag.
For example, when discussing Levi’s Stadium we gathered the top three hashtags which were: levisstadium, levistadium and 49ersstadium and added them together. The total hashtags searched across those three hashtags was 316,589, at the time of reporting.
However, when tracking how many hashtags were used for a venue that’s changed its name over the years we did things a little differently. This ed for venues who changed their name in the last 10 years.
For example, until 2022 the newly-named Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium was called Heinz Field so we used the hashtag heinzfield in the stadium’s overall top number of hashtags which were: heinzfield, acrisurestadium and heinzfieldstadium.
