It’s showtime, folks! The Tony Awards, which recognise the very best of live Broadway theatre, are just around the corner with the ceremony taking place on Sunday 8th June 2025, and theatre kids across the globe (myself included) are placing their bets on who will be receiving recognition.
This year marks the 78th Annual Tony Awards, which will once again return to the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City, hosted this year by Wicked star and nearly EGOT-winner herself, Cynthia Erivo.
With 26 competitive categories and bags of talent in the ring, predictions on Kalshi are flooding in. Two awards that I’ve got eyes on are ‘Best Musical Revival’ and ‘Best Play Revival,’ with many of our much-loved broadway shows and stories being catapulted back into the lime light, from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s remake of Sunset Boulevard to Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler’s fresh spin on Romeo + Juliet.
So, which productions will be getting their flowers this season? And who will be going home empty-handed? Ladies and gentlemen, the Kalshi predictions for the 2025 Tony Awards are in…

SUNSET BLVD to Take Centre Stage
Top of Kalshi predictions to bag the Tony award for ‘Best Musical Revival’ is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘SUNSET BLVD’, at 73% – and it’s clear to see why.
This revival of a much-loved theatre classic is like you’ve never seen before and is already the most nominated revival of the season, including a staggering 7 Drama Desk Award nomination, 4 Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, 4 Drama League Award nominations and of course 7 Tony award nominations – most notably, the Best Musical Revival category. So, why is it such a sure-fire win?

The daring reimagination stars none other than Nicole Scherzinger. I, for one, am often sceptical of when pop stars try to make it into the acting world, but I was surprised to learn that Scherzinger’s career actually began in musical theatre. But, it’s the critic reviews that have really swayed me.
The Pussy Cat Doll singer has been praised for her “unrecognizable” and “completely original take” on the old Hollywood classic flick, Sunset Boulevard. The Washington Post has even named her “an astonishing force of nature.” Plus, the production design has also got my attention. Using zero props, no extravagant sets, no fancy costumes, and even includes live shots from the streets of New York – come rain or shine – it’s fair to say that this show is both bold and brave.
So, will it be the SUNSET BLVD cast and crew taking a bow when the name for ‘Best Musical Revival’ award is called come the night of the Tony’s? I’ve got a lot of faith…
Gypsy to Climb to the Top?
Of course, there’s no certainty that SUNSET BLVD will be taking the crown. Also in the running for Best Musical Revival at 20% on Kalshi is broadway classic, Gypsy.
This remake has been created by Arthur Laurents, with music by Jule Styne and lyrics from Stephen Sondheim – a real musical theatre powerhouse of creatives. Plus, the production stars none other than 6-time Tony Award winner, Audra McDonald, who has been praised “a knockout” by The Guardian.
However, those expecting a refreshing new take on the old classic may end up disappointed come curtain call, as this revival of Gypsy is much more traditional. But that’s not to say it isn’t truly dazzling.
As is the nature of show business, there’s still plenty of time for the tables to turn and Gypsey to end up on top. After all, nobody understands show biz quite like Mother Rose, right?
Tony for ‘Best Play Revival’ Predictions
Play | Implied Probability | Odds |
---|---|---|
Eureka Day | 64% | -178 |
Yellow Face | 8% | +1150 |
Thornton Wilder's Our Town | 6% | +1567 |

Eureka! The Winner is…
When it comes to the ‘Best Play Revival’ category, we have what looks like another landslide winner – or at least, that’s what it’s saying on Kalshi, with Eureka Day in the lead at 64%.
So why is Eureka Day so deserving of the Tony? Well, if you ask me, this play revival is exactly what modern Broadway needs right now. It’s clever, witty and handles tricky topics that could otherwise be taken very seriously, with just the right balance.
Time Out says: “Eureka Day is often very funny, but it also contributes valuably to that discourse” – and I couldn’t agree more!
Plus, we can’t forget the stellar cast that bring this poignant story to life; Amber Gray, Jessica Hecht, Bill Irwin, Thomas Middleditch and Chelsea Yakura-Kurtz. Bravo, all round.

The Best of the Rest
Also in the mix for the ‘Best Play Revival’ Tony award is Yellow Face (currently sitting at 8% on Kalshi) and Thornton Wilder’s Our Town (now 6% on Kalshi), plus a handful of Shakespeare remakes which, sadly, don’t seem to be getting a look in at this current moment.
Of course, there’s still plenty of time for the tables to turn before the 8th June. After all, everybody loves an unexpected plot twist in the theatre, right? *Pause for gasps…*
